Our community had a good year last year that the Mayor decided to offer scholarships for single mothers. My daughter is such a huge fan of school that I knew the first day of college would be one she would remember forever. Long term I’m probably going to be looking to get my DTLLS but for the moment I wanted to pick up my CTLLS just to see if teaching is really what I want to do with my life. Spending an entire year working towards a DTLLS only to find out that I loathe teaching would be a proper waste of time for certain. I can always carry on to the diploma once I have my certificate. So far I have to say I really like my classes, I’m getting really good hands on instruction on how to run a classroom and what to expect from working in this field. I’ll start my thirty hours of teaching a class next month, which I’m looking forward too since I want to see if this is the right choice for me and I won’t know that until I’ve actually got out there tried it.
I am considering moving my family down to Texas. The job market is good and getting better, the schools are good and there are tons of colleges and universities in texas. My son is now 13 years old and he is a big Texas Longhorns fan and he really wants to go there for school. If we can establish a residence in the state he can go to that school, or any other Texas school, for a lot cheaper than if he were to go into school from out of state. Right now we live in North Carolina and we love it here, but he doesn’t care for the schools. I think it is because he is not a Tarheels fan! Maybe as he gets older he will see that it is not all about going to school where you like the football team, but rather the quality of the education and student life.
